The long-term upward drift of digital asset adoption combined with the structural tax of daily rebalancing makes holding this fund past a few sessions mathematically counterproductive.

Looking at the macroeconomic plumbing, SBIT serves as a pressure valve for institutional portfolios that cannot access offshore derivatives or direct short margin facilities. However, its efficiency degrades rapidly beyond a single trading session due to path dependency. Portfolio managers must weigh the convenience of an AMEX-listed inverse wrapper against the guaranteed structural decay.

From a market microstructure viewpoint, the creation and redemption mechanism for inverse leveraged ETFs relies heavily on authorized participants managing underlying futures swaps. During periods of extreme crypto market stress, widening bid-ask spreads and futures basis dislocations can introduce tracking errors that disadvantage retail and institutional holders alike.
