On our desk, we've been tracking ZCBB's liquidity profile since its January 2026 launch. While the concept of targeting the FTSE Zero Coupon U.S. Treasury STRIPS 2031 Maturity Index is clean, the current AUM sitting at roughly $971K and single-digit daily volume means execution slippage can be a real headache. We like the structural idea, but until creation/redemption activity picks up significantly, large block orders are a non-starter.

When evaluating liability-matching strategies for clients needing cash flows aligned around 2031, zero-coupon structures eliminate reinvestment rate risk prior to maturity. ZCBB achieves this via FTSE-indexed STRIPS. In a portfolio context, though, advisors must weigh the minuscule $0.49M to $0.97M asset base against potential operational continuity considerations.

As a risk manager looking at fixed-income target maturity vehicles, ZCBB's 0.07% expense ratio is undeniably attractive. With a modified duration of 4.88 and holdings restricted to zero-coupon U.S. Treasuries, credit risk is essentially neutralized. However, the lack of secondary market depth requires careful limit-order usage to avoid paying an unforced premium over NAV.

Reviewing the April 2026 prospectus and recent performance data, ZCBB provides pure-play exposure to 2031 STRIPS without corporate credit baggage. The weighted price around 80.49 reflects the deep discount characteristic of zero-coupon instruments maturing down the road. It does what it says on the tin, provided you can source shares cleanly.

As a quant monitoring niche ETF ecosystems, ZCBB is currently flying under almost everyone's radar. With just 4 to 6 holdings and average daily volume under 20 shares, pricing anomalies can pop up between market open and close. The SEC yield sitting around 4.28% gives a baseline, but you aren't getting institutional-grade liquidity here yet.
